Athletic FacilitiesFor Football, Soccer, and Lacrosse, Littleton plays their Varsity home games at Littleton Public Schools District Stadium (LPS Stadium/LPSS) when available. This participation fee is required for all student athletes. It will not be charged if the student athlete does not make the team or if they choose not to participate prior to the first scrimmage or contest. If the student decides to quit the team, it is their responsibility to advise the Head Coach and the Athletic Dept in a timely manner. The LPS Athletic Registration Fee is paid to LHS Bookkeeper. This fee is due once it is posted on the Student's IC Account, after the rosters have been submitted by the Coaches - approximately one to two weeks after tryouts are completed. The Athletic Registration Fee goes back to LHS Athletic programs to help offset the programs operating costs. There may also be additional team fees that are determined by the Head Coach. These fees can be submitted to the Head Coach. LPS Athletic Handbook & Code of Conduct (Spanish) - will be available soonAthletic Study HallStudent-Athletes who are ineligible to compete because of their academic grades must attend the Athletic Study hall during the week they are ineligible. Ineligibility is determined by the Weekly Eligibility Report and attendance is MANDATORY. The Athletic Study Hall is supervised by Coaches/Teachers after school. The Student-Athlete may attend practices after study hall at the discretion of their Coach.
CampsGeneral information on Summer or Pre-Season Camps is posted on the Athletic website. All camps are organized and managed by the Head Coach of that sport so please direct any questions regarding the camps to the Head Coach.
Changes & Cancellations to Games & Practice SchedulesGames: Coaches will communicate to the Athletes of any changes. We will try to update the calendar of any game changes as soon as possible. Practices: Any changes to practices will be communicated to the Athletes by the Coaches.
Inclement Weather Policies Games – Individual Home games will be decided by the Athletic Director in consultation with the Head Coach. For Away games, the Away School will make the decision. Any changes or cancellations will be updated on the calendar as soon as possible. Coaches will communicate to the Athletes of any changes or cancellations. Practices – Changes or cancellations to practices will be at the discretion of the Head Coach. Coaches will communicate to the Athletes of any changes or cancellations.
If the school is closed, or closes early as per LPS, due to inclement weather, all activities (games & practices) scheduled for that day and evening will be canceled.
Clearance CardsAll student-athletes must obtain a Clearance Card to give to their Coach on the first day of practice/tryouts before they can participate. EligibilityAll student-athletes must be eligible under policies established by the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA). These polices can be found on their website at www.chsaa.org. Please see LPS Athletic Code of Conduct for additional information. LHS Athletic Dept runs the Weekly Eligibility Report every Wednesday afternoon. This report determines a student-athlete’s eligibility to compete the following week, from Monday to Saturday. In order to become eligible after the Weekly Eligibility Report has ran, the student-athlete must bring their grade up and ask the teacher to update the grade in Infinite Campus and email the Athletic Director by Friday, before 3:30 pm. The student-athlete should also meet with the Athletic Director regarding the ineligibility. The Athletic Director must approve the change in the grade before the student becomes eligible for the following week. The Athletic Dept will email the coach if there is a change to the eligibility report. Students who are ineligible must attend the LHS Athletic Study Hall during the entire week they are ineligible.
Field Trips (Overnight)If a sport event requires the Student to spend the night away, the Overnight Field Trip packet must be completed by the Student and their Parent/Guardian. The Head Coaches will hand out the required forms to the students.** These completed forms must be returned to the Coach or the Athletic Dept a few days before the trip. (The Coach will advise the student where to turn in the forms) If the Student will be missing classes due to the field trip, they should also have their teachers sign off on the “Parent Permission for School Activity” form. This form is available in the Main Office.
** Note: The complete Overnight Field Trip packet is also available at the Main Office. Fitness Center / Performance Center / Weight RoomThe Fitness Center is opened to all LHS Students when the Weight Room Supervisor is in attendance. LHS Athletes can use the Fitness Center anytime under the supervision of a Coach.
Foreign Exchange StudentsForeign Exchange Students can participate in sports as long as they meet the same requirements as other students. This include registering online for their sport of choice and submitting a current Physical Form. They are also subjected to the Eligibility Rules & Regulations. The Athletic Dept must complete and submit the appropriate forms to CHSAA for approval before Foreign Exchange Students can compete. Therefore, the Student must come and speak to the Athletic Director as soon as possible so the paperwork can be completed in a timely manner. Until the Student has been approved by CHSAA, they can participate in practices but cannot compete. NOTE: TRANSFERS: An international student transferring from one Colorado high school to another at any time shall not be eligible until a Transfer Waiver Form has been approved by the leagues involved and the CHSAA Commissioner. Under no circumstances may an international student transfer for athletic purposes in order to participate in any interscholastic athletic program. See section on Transfer Students

Missing a Varsity Letter? If you misplaced your Varsity Letter, you can obtain another one from the Athletic Dept. The cost is $6.50 and payment is cash or check only. Lettering requirements will be established and communicated by each Varsity coach. Lower level teams, or those who did not meet the lettering requirements, will receive certificates of participation.

Parent/Team MeetingsEvery Team will hold a Parent/Team Meeting at the beginning of each sport season. Parents and Athletes should try to attend these meetings as this is where the Coach will outline their expectations for the season; give out important information about their sports program; and discuss how parents can support the program and their Students. Parents should check with their Students or the Head Coach on when these meetings are.

PhysicalsHave the doctor complete the LHS Physical Form and return it to the Athletic Dept or upload the form during registration. If the doctor uses their own form, the form must have the following information:
All Physicals are valid for 365 days. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure the Physical Form on file in the Athletic Dept is current during the sport’s season. If you do not have a family doctor, check the document Clinics for Physicals.
LPS District PhysicalsLPS District Physicals are usually offered to LPS students at less cost than at a clinic. This event is put on by the three LPS high schools in conjunction with the high schools' Athletic Trainers and their organization. Every year their staff, as well as the physicians, volunteers their time to provide LPS families with the best care possible to help ensure our student-athletes will have a successful season. The location of the District Physicals is rotated amongst the three high schools and is usually on a Saturday morning, between 8:00 am to 11:30 am. To speed things up on the day of the District Physicals, please complete the District Physical History form at your convenience and bring it with you for the District Physical. Once the student is cleared, a Clearance Card from the Athletic Dept will be emailed to the parents and student. This must be shown to the coach on the first day of practice/tryouts. NOTE: Prior to the first registration, parents will need to create and activate a Family Account. This only needs to be done once and is used to register multiple students within a family. Reimbursement of ExpensesAnybody who requires reimbursements for team-related expenses, must complete the Booster Club Reimbursement Form. This form must be signed by the Head Coach and, if the amount is $500.00 or more, by the Athletic Director. The Booster Club will issue the check. The Reimbursement Form and receipts can be dropped off at LHS or given to the Head Coach. The Reimbursement Form is available at the Athletic Dept or from the Head Coach.

Student InsuranceHealth Insurance is mandatory in order to participate in sports. Health Insurance is provided by K&K Insurance if you need it for your Student. Please click on the link below for their website:
K&K InsuranceStudent Insurance provider Team ManagersIf a Student would like to be a Team Manager for a sports team, s/he must obtain permission from the Head Coach, register online, and submit a physical form, similar to student-athletes. Team Managers do not pay the Athletic Fee.
Transfer Students - Information to be updated shortly - contact Athletic DeptFor Students transferring to Littleton High School from another high school, Parents/Legal Guardians must complete the CHSAA transfer process.
Until we receive approval, Transfer Students can register and practice with the teams but cannot compete. Therefore, it is important that the paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
TransportationWhenever possible, LPS school buses will be used to transport the Athletes for all sporting events. However when school buses are not available or practical, teams may need to use private or commercial vehicles*. In order for a student to ride in a private or commercial vehicle, a parent/guardian must give their permission on the Use of Private Vehicle form. This form is mandatory and now part of the on-line registration process. If a parent/guardian does not grant permission for their student to ride in a private or commercial vehicle, then the parent/guardian is responsible for getting their student to and from the event. *Note: Commercial transportation is limited to charter buses and small passenger vans (rented). The use of passenger vans capable of carrying more than 12 passengers is not allowed due to insurance limitations within the District.
Adult Drivers If an adult would like to drive a student who is not related to them, the adult must complete the Adult Driver Form and return it to the Athletic Dept with a copy of their driver’s license and car insurance. This form will be kept of file at the Athletic Dept and valid for any sporting event for the current school year. However, the person must notify the Athletic Dept of any changes to their driving situation, driver’s license or car insurance.

Volunteers / Booster ClubDo you want to play a vital role in your Student’s involvement in sports? Do you have some time you can spare to make your Student’s time as an Athlete at LHS a more memorable experience? A great way to get involved is to volunteer. Parental involvement is essential for team success. It is your support that makes things happen. Any amount of volunteer time is never too small. Our Teams and Coaches are always looking for parents to step up and help. You can volunteer for a specific team or you can help out with the Athletic program by volunteering for our Booster Club.
